Evaluation Criteria
Evaluation Criteria for Android Development
The Android operating system is very popular in modern day smart phones and is open to a wide audience of users and developers. Development firms work with the Android to create software for use on the platform for a variety of uses. Phones are no longer restricted to just making calls or messaging, they are used to track information and for business or personal uses that can even rival computers. It has become even more important to have developers working to create new innovative applications.
We evaluate android development firms that work to develop applications for the open source Android mobile operating system. Development firms work to develop code for the use of clients for distribution to a company's clients or for the general public. Our evaluation criteria is based on the work that a development firm is able to produce for the platform based on their competitors.
The first criterion reviewed by us is the development quality. We evaluate a vendor’s work to create quality code that will function on the platform based on commonly accepted standards for development.
Next, we focus on the design quality. We assess the overall quality of the graphics as they display on the Android platform. Do the images compliment the development work, and make the application more effective?
Customer support is another aspect of android development that we review which determines the overall quality of service being provided. Does the vendor work to resolve issues with the application? How available is the support team to quickly resolve issues?
We also evaluate the speed at which the agency is capable of developing code. We review the vendor’s efficiency in the development process and being able to meet deadlines set between them and the client.
The final evaluation criterion is based on the level of bug testing the agency does prior to releasing software to the client. Are the applications free from bugs to prevent issues from arising after development?
