Evaluation Criteria for GUI Design

A carefully designed graphical user interface is important for many projects. Whether it be for an online website or for a project, GUI design firms will create graphics that help organize and engage the user in the experience. This could be important for websites that focus on e-commerce, information, or even a company website designed to give users information about products and services. There is also a demand for custom interfaces for different platforms such as DVD menus, web software, computer software, and other various projects.

The evaluation criteria focuses on both the technological and graphical aspects of graphical user interface design of different types.

The first evaluation criterion is on the design aspect and how it will appeal to the target audience. For media projects and online projects, is the GUI interface designed in a way to attract users and help provide accessibility to the project’s function?

Next we focus on the functional aspect of the design. We evaluate the usability of the GUI.  Does it react to the application it is designed for and meet requirements for operation?

Another aspect of our evaluation is on the design standards set by the vendor. We assess their standards set for all of the work they produce in order to ensure equality between clients and to give customers a sense of trust.

The fourth aspect focuses on implementation assistance. How does the vendor help to integrate the graphical part of the design with the project’s applications? Does the GUI design firm provide support for their design in order to help make the easiest integration into a website or media?

Lastly, we evaluate the overall quality of the work. Specifically we assess the design quality, the image quality, and the professional look.
